STEPS YOU NEED WHEN APPLYING FOR YOUR UK VISA

At CPN Consultants, we know how exciting and a little intimidating it can be to plan your first trip to the United Kingdom. The anticipation of applying for the UK visa can quickly get clouded by confusing paperwork, long checklists, and visa doubts.

But guess what? You're not alone.

We’ve walked this road with countless Ugandan travelers, students, couples and curious adventurers and helped them tick every box needed to get that UK visa stamp. And now we’re here to do the same for you.

So, let’s break it all down together. Here’s your personalized CPN guide to the essential documents you need when applying for a UK tourist visa from Uganda.

1. Your Passport: Your Global ID

This is where your journey starts. Make sure your Ugandan passport is: Valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned return date, has at least one blank page, clean and intact-no tears or loose covers.

We always advise our clients to carry two color photocopies of their passport and any past visas. It shows travel history and preparedness.

2. Online Visa Application Form

This is the official form from UKVI. This application questions your intent to enter the uk, collects your past travel history, your current employment and employment status, it also collects your biodata information and financial information. In this application: you are supposed to clearly state your reason for travel, how long your travel will be and where you will be staying while in the UK. It is an online application that is filled from the account created from the Government of the UK, once you are done with the application, you will review the application and submit once you are accurate that all information is accurate and to the best of your knowledge. Before you submit the online application, you are supposed to accept and acknowledge all the terms and conditions of this application.

3. Proof of Visa Fee Payment

After submitting the form, you'll pay the visa fee online (about USD $130). You'll need to print that payment confirmation slip and bring it to your appointment.

4. TLScontact Appointment Confirmation

Once payment is done, the system will redirect you to the online appointment booking portal for TLScontact in Kampala or from any other country you wish to submit your biometrics. When scheduling for your appointment, you can choose to pay for other TLScontact service fees such as scanning your documents, getting express appointments and delivering your passport and any other express services. On the date of your appointment, you will head to your selected TLScontact service center, ensure to arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment. You will present your appointment and the document checklist you printed from your application, further directions will be given at the TLScontact service center.

You can track your application from the TLScontact portal to check on the progress of your visa application to the Uk.

5. Collect your Passport

At this point, you have received a message or email from TLScontact to collect your passport. You will head to the service center to collect your passport.
